Over the garden wall

Jul 27, 2015 | Garden Journal

One of the things I liked most when living in the UK was travelling on the top deck of the bus and peeking over the fences and walls into beautiful gardens.
Now as a member of the Tamborine Mountain Garden Club I can enjoy this private peek into other gardens at the invitation of the garden owner during the Garden Visit each month.
Last Tuesday we visited the lovely garden of  Bernadette Stacey & Peter McDonnell

This impressive 1 acre garden was open for the first time to the club and we were pleased to see the rain clear for a lovely stroll in this well laid out garden.

Bernadette is the editor of our Garden Newsletter and has been remodelling this garden for four years and has added to the already established trees, well laid out lawns and garden beds with spring bulbs and a promise of lovely roses to come. There was an impressive vegetable bed
.

The great display of potted annuals on a patio added to the colour of the garden and we saw some wonderful magnolias in the smaller front garden and great vireyas at the side.

We all loved this handsome hare on his pedestal and  there were some whimsical touches throughout th犀利士
e garden.
