The volunteers at Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens will hold a special plant sale on Saturday, March 9, to raise much-needed funds for the Gardens rebuild following the Christmas storm.
The sale will be held in the Gardens car park from 8am until noon. The Gardens themselves remain closed to visitors during the difficult rebuild following the devastating Christmas night storm.
Botanic Gardens president Greg Ingold said the funds raised will go into rebuilding the many gardens that were severely damaged during the storm.
“While we remain closed, we cannot generate income from the kind donations and weekly plant sales we normally receive,” he said. “Yet the costs of the rebuild are considerable.
“We hope the community will strongly support this sale so we can get on with the job.”
The good news for plant lovers is that the recent rain and warm weather has resulted in rapid and massive growth of a wide range of plants in the propagation pavilion.
Bobby White, leader of the Potty Potters propagation team, says: “We have prepared a wide variety of offerings including the alluring bat plants, an assortment of perennials, sensational succulents and many more.”
The team can accept cash or card for payment and please bring along your own baskets or boxes to take your plants home.
