Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens is celebrating 40 years of history with a special event on Sunday, 28 May.

The main activity is a fantastic plant sale prepared by the Gardens’ legendary Potty Potters.  Head Potter Bobby White says the team has assembled a wide variety including beautiful begonias, a great collection of succulents that are certain to please avid gardeners and a special selection of orchids already mounted on logs.

Events in the gardens will include fun for children in Sooty Owl’s Creekside Trail, musical entertainment including the magnificent Bella A’capella choir who will sing for about an hour from 10am as well as some of the Mountain’s best jazz musicians and, of course, a succulent sausage sizzle.

Events will range across the Gardens with the Plant Sale at the newly paved service area at the southern end of the Gardens. Simply follow the signs across the stone bridge from the car park and along the main road.  Cash and card services are available.

A highlight of the day will be the special art raffle of a beautiful still life painting by Barbara Briers  and donated by her widower Alfred Briers specifically to help raise funds for the volunteers’ ongoing work. Tickets for the raffle are $2 on sale at the Potters pavilion in the service area every Wednesday and Thursday morning during May and on Sunday 28 May before the raffle draw at 2pm.

Everyone is welcome to celebrate with the Gardens volunteers. Bring a picnic, enjoy the wonderful environment and be involved in the activities.
