Art raffle offers superb still life painting

May 11, 2023 | Garden Journal

The team at Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens is proud  to announce a superb art raffle as part of major celebration for the Gardens’ 40th anniversary celebrations on Sunday, May 28.

Tickets are $2 each or three for $5 and will be available at the Gardens’ propagation pavilion on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, from about 8.30am to 11.30am until May 25. 犀利士 Cash or card payment are available.  The painting will be on display during these times.

Still life by Barbara Briers.

The winning ticket will be drawn during celebrations in the Gardens at 2pm on Sunday, May 28.

The celebrations throughout the Gardens will also include a major plant sale, music, activities for children and a sausage sizzle.

The art raffle is a magnificent still life of flowers painted by artist Barbara Briers.  While Barbara did not live on the Mountain, she  loved our Botanic Gardens and drew great inspirations from them. Sadly, Barbara died a year ago. Her husband, Alfred Briers, has generously offered the work to the Gardens team to raise funds for our ongoing development.

The painting is oil on board, approximately 450mm by 600mm and elegantly framed.

To purchase tickets and to support the work of the Gardens volunteers, simply follow the “Plant Sale” signs along the main road through the Gardens to the propagation pavilion in our newly surfaced service area at the southern end of the Gardens.
