Botanic Gardens prepares massive plant sale to celebrate Springtime

The team at Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens is celebrating the re-opening of the Gardens with a massive two-day plant sale during the last weekend in September, coinciding with the Springtime on the Mountain festival.

All proceeds from the sale go to the ongoing repairs and maintenance of the Botanic Gardens.

The plant sale will be open from 8am to noon on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 at the Bobby White propagation pavilion at the southern end of the Gardens with prices ranging from $5.

Bobby White, leader of our legendary propagation team, says they have been working feverishly since the devastation of the Christmas storm to prepare a large variety for visitors to select.

“We are excited to again offer colourful deep orange clivias,” she says. “They are bare-rooted and in full flower ready for planting. We also have a fabulous collection of succulents and ferns for sale at great prices.

“Another favourite right now is star jasmine with its delightful fragrance. And there are so many more species ready for home gardens.

“We have also created something specially for children – carefully selected plants growing in water so they can see close-up the root systems of the young plants as they develop.

“We do ask that our visitors bring their own bags or boxes to take their purchases to the car park as we simply do not have enough supply.”

Vehicles will be available to help plant enthusiasts to take their prize purchases to their cars and the team can accept cash or card for payment.

A succulent sausage sizzle will be held close to the plant pavilion on both days.
