Volunteers do the majority of the work at the Botanic Gardens. Thursday morning is the time most of us meet to carry out the routine tasks and interesting jobs such as area maintenance, mowing, pruning, planting, fertilizing and mulching.  There is always plenty of weed control needed and important installation of irrigation, building projects and garden construction. So, if you are interested in learning about gardens while meeting and working alongside a great group of people, we would love to talk to you. It is a fun time and no particular skills are required. There are many areas that need someone to ‘take on’ as their special interest.

Would you like to be a volunteer?

Contact the Manager or just turn up on a Wednesday or Thursday morning anytime from 8am with suitable work gear and you will be made most welcome.  Bring along a thermos of tea/coffee and join us for morning tea at 10am, You will find us a welcoming and friendly group of people.

Potty Potters

The Potty Potters group meets each Wednesday morning and works in the two small propagation nurseries at the gardens.  The Potters have great fun striking cuttings, potting-on, labelling and selling the plants.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Potters, contact Bobby White (07) 5545 3531 or contact Potty Potters
